As I was waiting for a Bear to come out of the brush, I had this guy walk right by my truck as if to check me out and see what I was doing in his neighborhood. I was totally focused on the bear in the brush and this guy surprised the heck out of me as he came walking directly into my shot zone, very nonchalantly, almost as if he were auditioning to be in the picture. I never saw him coming. Thanks big guy for posing. He then walked up to the front of my truck and vanished into the trees.
As mentioned I was waiting for another bear just inside the tree line to show his face.
Which means that just past this guys head is another bear in the brush. To the right of this guys head there are 2 small trees side by side. If you enlarge the pic and look carefully just to the left of the left most tree, that big black spot is another bear rummaging for food. I could literally hear him banging around in the brush. He never came back out. Which is ok, since I got earlier shots of him.
Once this big guy in the foreground strolled by and looked directly at me just before I snapped this shot, then walked ten feet in front of my truck, I decided my work here is done and went home, 2 minutes away from this spot, to post these shots.
To his credit he did respectfully keep his distance and vanished into his bear hole. Apparently, I did not realize I was almost covering up his favorite bear tunnel into the woods and riches on the other side in our neighborhood in the form of neighbors trash!
Party on big guy! Until we meet again.
Oh and do forgive me, but I failed to ask him his weight, I was a bit occupied at the time and it totally slipped my mind. My guess is this guy might be close to 350 maybe 400.
